Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for an International Fellowship for urban scholars on any theme pertinent to a better understanding of urban realities in the global south funded by the Urban Studies Foundation. Applicants for the Master of Science in Sustainability, Development, and Peace are required to have met the following requirements by the application deadline in order to be considered:

Scholarship Description: The programme addresses pressing global issues of sustainability, climate change, development, peacebuilding, and human rights through an innovative interdisciplinary approach that integrates the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. The programme is intended for recent graduates, professionals, and practitioners, offering the unique opportunity to study at a global university within the framework of the United Nations. It provides students with the knowledge and skills to make important contributions towards solving global issues, whether through employment by UN agencies, other international organizations, governments, civil society, or the private sector.
The Japan Foundation for UNU (JFUNU) Scholarship is available for outstanding applicants from developing countries who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance, and they will be considered as candidates for the award of the scholarship. The JFUNU scholarship covers the full tuition fees, and provides a monthly allowance of 150,000 JPY* for living expenses for a maximum of 24 months. Travel costs to and from Japan, visa handling fees, and health/accident insurance costs must be covered by the student. *150,000 JPY is the average monthly living cost for an international student without dependents in Tokyo, although this amount may vary depending on the lifestyle of the student.

The following general requirements apply to international student applicants (except EU citizens) who wish to study in Germany:
-You must be enrolled at a state-recognized university or college (e.g. Fachhochschule) in Germany at the time the scholarship payments begin.
You should provide proof that you have already graduated with an initial professional qualification. This programme mainly supports students aiming for a Masters degree.
-You need a good knowledge of German, and we kindly ask you to provide proof of your proficiency. Please note that the selection workshop (interviews, group discussions) will normally be in German. Exceptions (interview in English) are, however, possible.
-Unfortunately, the current guidelines specify that we can not support foreign scholarship holders for stays abroad in third countries for more than four weeks. The following requirements apply to all German and non-German students wishing to pursue a Masters degree or post-graduate studies:
-You should definitely apply for a scholarship before the start of your studies, in order to ensure long-term support and cooperation.
-The Heinrich Böll Foundation cannot award you a scholarship, if you are studying for a one-year Masters degree and were not previously supported by the foundation.
-Tuition fees for fee-paying courses in Germany cannot be financed by the Heinrich Böll Foundation. The following requirements apply to PhD-students from outside the EU:

Scholarship Description: PhD students of the ICDD Graduate School will be based at the partner university they chose (see above) and enrolled in its PhD training programme. A joint international workshop programme on subjects of the ICDD, research methods, the connection between theory and empirical research and for the presentation of the prospective PhD projects will take place every year within the Graduate School. The scholarship will be awarded for three years under the precondition of successful admission as a PhD candidate at the host university and a positive progress evaluation by the ICDD in the first scholarship year. Scholarship Description: The World Bank annually awards five scholarships to the PPT program. The first level of screening of candidates will be done at Yokohama National University. The final decision regarding scholarship recipients will be made by the World Bank. The scholarship covers a monthly allowance of JPY170,000 (the amount is subject to change), and a round-trip air ticket to Japan plus a travel allowance of JPY60,000. The monthly stipend is intended to cover living, commuting and other incidental expenses during the student’s study period. The next scholarship program runs from April 2012 to March 2014. This cannot be changed under any circumstances. In addition, the scholarship covers tuition, entrance examination and admission fees. Travel expenses for some program-sponsored field trips are also included.
