Qualifying Details
Lord Watson and Marshall Papworth Scholarships are full awards offered to African applicants working in natural resource based projects and applying for a place on the MA in Rural Development, or the MSc in Environment and International Development. All eligible applicants will be considered and successful candidates informed by July each year.

This award is applicable to the following countries:

  2. I am quite interested to pursue mu postgardauate studies in Rural Development. This field has an enormous contribution to our country. Ethiopia is a rural country with 85% of the population is deriving its livelihood from Agriculture.

    I am a female Cameroonian,teacher by profession and presently the regent of a clan with close to 20000 people. These people live in a tough rural environment on a high plateau area.     I am a youngman aged 27 and Malawian by nationality. I am currently with the Evangelical Association as a natural resources specialist responsible for all rural and community-based projects. I have been given a place to pursue a MA. in Rural Development at UEA starting this year.

    I truly believe that Evangelical Association of Malawi, my colleagues as well as the entire nation of Malawi is going to benefit a lot from this scholarship if I will be awarded this.

  7. I am a male Malawian holding BSc in Agricultural Economics obtained in 2003 in the University of Malawi. I work with Ministry of Agriculture and main responsibility is formulation and implementation of programs aiming at uplifting the lives of rural poor people. The main focal areas of our programs are improving crop production, livestock production, and environmental management thus land resource and irrigation. I would like to pursue Masters program in order to strengthen and deepen my knowledge and skills so as to serve better the poor masses and ably transform their lives.     I came accrossed the scholarship opportunity for post graduate MSc in Environment and International Development. I am a matured applicant aged 38 with sixteen years experience in biodiversity management, research and environmental education. I am currently the project coordinator of CBD POWPA and National RAMSAR Focal Point. Though i did not pass through the formal secondary school system but i have acquired a diploma in development studies in addition to so many specialised short courses.
