Update: 15 more scholarships in 2008/2009

After a tender procedure, the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed the University of Twente as the university where some 40 students from central and eastern Europe will complete a Master’s Degree in Public Administration for a period of two years, at next to no charge.

The Dutch government will be refunding the costs as part of the MATRA Training for European Cooperation (MTEC) programme. This programme has been devised to support the transition from totalitarianism to multiform democracies in central and eastern Europe.

Twenty scholarships are to be awarded to students completing this course for each of the academic years 2006/2007 and 2007/2008.

15 Scholarships are awarded in the academic year 2008/2009. The scholarships are intended primarily for recent college graduates and young officials from new European Union member states and pre-accession states.

In addition to attending the master’s programme, students will take part in a social programme – which includes an introduction to the Netherlands – and will follow a personal development programme. Enrolment is open until 1 July 2008.

  2. As a B.SC holder in Banking and finances I did some courses in Business Management that exposed me to know how Management permits every discipline and sector. This re-awoken my childhood desire to be a professional managerial constant. However my final decision to become a professional managerial consultant was seal during my National Youth service Corp (N.Y.S.C) when I attended a career Management and Development Seminar organized by Lord Comfort consulting. Much light was shed on the interdisciplinary position of Management, which motivated my personal studies of recent development in Management.
It was evidently demonstrated in my project that the seminar hitherto mentioned that multinationals and white-chip companies favour foreign certificate over local due to the apparent fall in the Nigeria standard of education and the inconsistency in the educational calender.
As a student, both in Nigeria and also in China, concerning the research programmer am carrying out in china, it was obvious to me that lecturers that studied abroad where better equipped than the local content ones, even in China it is also obvious base on the fact that most of the lecturers in China universities that studied abroad are more equipped than the local content ones.
Again, the manifestation of the productivity of Nigeria government officials like PROFESSOR SOLUDO (C.B.N GOVERNOR), DR NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA (Former Minister of finance) and MALLAM EL-RUFAI (Former FCT Minister) are product of foreign studies.
In a world of dynamism only people who imbibe and assimilate the dynamic culture can survive and make an impact. While education is assuming large scale chances around the gober, that of my country Nigeria is in a state of lag. As theory and practice are increasingly being knitted together in international academics environment so that student can appreciate the inherent different, our academic system is still being overwhelmed with theories of practical tenor. This tends to give graduate from International study environment a cutting-edge over their counterparts who study in Nigeria. So I want to be a participant contributor to Nigeria economy and to other less developed countries and not a spectator. To me, and every sincere evaluator, it is obvious that educational background goes a long way to affect such positive impact, hence my desire and motivation to study in your country.
Besides, academic learning, cross-cultural appreciation and assimilation is also learned because I see your country as a cosmopolitan environment with people of diverse ethnicity. In the world of globalization, understanding people is a veritable tool for easy fusion hand work place interpersonal cohesion. All these factors motivated me to study in your country.
