Application for the 2011-2012 will open in late September 2010. The Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Asia (JISPA) was first introduced in 1993. It is funded by the Government of Japan, administered by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and conducted at various graduate schools in Japan. Its objective is to contribute to institutional capacity building in economic policymaking to promote the sustainable growth of emerging and developing economies in Asia and the Pacific. By training future macroeconomic managers in these countries, the JISPA aims to enable them to better formulate sound economic and financial stability policies needed for sustainable growth and development. Currently, the JISPA is ONLY open to qualified candidates from the following countries: Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Lao P.D.R., Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pacific Island Countries, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. Deadline: 1 September 2010 Training course on Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture and Natural Resources Management by Wageningen UR Centre for Development Innovation, Netherlands will be held in East Africa from 28 February – 11 March 2011. Ms Judith Meppem was the first Chief Nursing Officer in New South Wales and held this role from 1990 to 2002. Having had a long and distinguished career as a nurse she understood the importance of ongoing learning for the nursing and midwifery professions. As the Chief Nurse, Judith championed the need for NSW Health to provide learning opportunities for our nurses and midwives. The International Federation of University Women offers a limited number of international fellowships and grants to women graduates for postgraduate research, study and training. IFUW's 2011/2012 competition is now open. The fellowships and grants offered are for research, study and training to be carried out between 1 April 2011 to 31 December 2012. No other funding is available. Who can apply? IFUW fellowships and grants are open only to women graduates who are members of IFUW's national federations and associations and to IFUW Independent Members. Students in any branch of learning may apply. Fellowships are offered for the second and subsequent years of a doctoral programme and for post-doctoral studies. DeBakey Research Scholarship to provide an opportunity for research, training and experience for North American surgeons committed to pursuing an academic career in cardiothoracic surgery. The scholarship will be funded by the Graham Education and Research Foundation and administered by the Association. The research program must be undertaken within the first three years after completion of an approved cardiothoracic residency.
